Outset Island Lofi Flip
Outset Island Lofi, produced by Enluv, pairs upright bass, expressive piano, and a relaxed trip hop beat with The Deku Trio’s arrangement to give new life to a classic Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker composition.
Enluv has built a reputation for blending jazz, hip hop, and electronic influences into music that feels equally suited for active listening and quiet reflection. Rather than chasing nostalgia alone, his arrangements often find new ways to inhabit familiar melodies. Here, a combination of acoustic instrumentation and modern rhythm creates something that feels like it transcends time. Part jazz trio, part mix tape.
What struck me most was how naturally the old and new coexist. The stand-up bass and piano could have come from a late-night jazz session, while the beat quietly keeps everything moving forward. The result feels respectful of the original without being trapped by it. I kept thinking about how rare it is for a remix to feel nostalgic and fresh at the same time, but this one manages it. It honors the emotion of Fi’s Farewell while giving it a groove that makes you want to stay with it a little longer.
