Rippling harps pair with smooth basslines in Coffee Date’s remix of “Secret of the Forest”, a lush lofi reimagining of the theme from Chrono Trigger.

Coffee Date is Evelyn Rivera, a Los Angeles-based composer and multi-instrumentalist, known best for her Stardew Valley tribute album Stardew & Chill. Her lofi hip hop cover of “Secret of the Forest” showcases live performances on the piano, violin, and melodica, and features detailed percussion and basslines. Composed by Yasunori Mitsuda, “Secret of the Forest” appears as the theme of the Guardia Forest in the time-traveling fantasy RPG Chrono Trigger for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
