Chimpazilla Takes Ocarina of Time on a Liminal Trance Journey

Zelda: Liminal Pulse is Chimpazilla’s deep house and liminal trance-driven journey through The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, transforming the game’s temple themes and ethereal atmosphere into seven interconnected electronic tracks.

Chimpazilla studied electronic and trance production through legendary remixer bLiNd, and carries the torch of ultra detailed production and deep, driving beats.

The album moves from a haunting “Prologue” through Fire, Forest, Water, Time, and Spirit before closing with an eerie “Epilogue.” “Prologue” begins with distant textures and soft piano before a driving electronic beat emerges, eventually dissolving into a voice and the ticking of a clock. “Fire” pushes forward with a strong beat and warped synths, while “Forest” surrounds its trance rhythm with sounds that seem to whisper through the trees.

The environments grow stranger as the journey continues. “Water” descends into darker, submerged textures, with electronic sounds resembling sonar searching through the depths. The persistent pulse of “Time” is joined by ticking-clock sounds, while “Spirit” combines a forceful trance beat with an expansive, windswept atmosphere. “Epilogue” slows everything down for a final unsettling conclusion.

Producer Kristina Scheps, aka Chimpazilla, has spent more than 15 years producing electronic music across trance, techno, drum & bass, jungle, house, dubstep, and atmospheric styles. Zelda: Liminal Pulse brings that electronic background to one of her longtime musical inspirations and takes you to the temples of Ocarina of Time for a seven-track trance journey.
