Zelda & Lofi: Ocarina of Time

GameChops collaborates with the lo-fi musicians of Downtown Records for a once in a lifetime collection.

Zelda & Lofi brings together eight lofi trailblazers to flip samples of The Deku Trio into original and cover beats. Every track begins with a live performance by The Deku Trio, which each producer samples to create a new lofi interpretation of music from The Legend of Zelda.

Joining GameChops from renown labels like Chillhop, Lofi Girl, College Music, Majestic Casual, and Nettwerk. The roster of guest producers and musicians feature G. Mills, Slo Loris, Kendall Miles, Angry Apple, The Deli, Enluv, Aso, and Shopan.

The Deku Trio is GameChops’ live jazz ensemble, known for Zelda & Jazz, Zelda & Jazz II, and Zelda & Jazz III. Those albums became the foundation for a series of collaborations that paired live piano, upright bass, and drums with producers from across the lofi community. Zelda & Lofi collects those collaborations together for the first time in one album.

Featuring music inspired by Zelda’s Lullaby, Sheik’s Song, Zora’s Domain, Ocarina of Time, Fi’s Farewell, Outset Island, King of Red Lions, and Ballad of the Wind Fish, the collection showcases how eight producers sample the same live performances to create eight distinct tracks inspired by the music of The Legend of Zelda.
