Lofi visions of harp and piano sparkle in “Dearly Beloved” by Jokabi. Detailed with percussive textures and erhu flourishes, Jokabi transforms the classic Kingdom Hearts theme.

Jokabi is a beatmaker from Germany known for his lofi covers of video game and anime soundtracks, including the fan-favorite Chilltendo album series. Inspired by his experiences traveling in Thailand, “Dearly Beloved” prominently features the erhu, a hauntingly beautiful bowed instrument heard mainly in Eastern music. The theme was composed by Yoko Shimomura for the Kingdom Hearts series, and has appeared in every Kingdom Hearts title since its 2002 debut on PlayStation 2. Intricately produced and emotionally potent, Jokabi’s arrangement is a treat for gamers and lofi fans alike.
