Final Fantasy Meets FM Funk and Chiptune Jazz Fusion 

FM Fusion: Final Fantasy celebrates two eras at once, combining classic Final Fantasy music with the funk, disco, and vintage electronic sounds inspired by the golden age of video games.


Joshua Morse is a jazz musician, composer, and software engineer whose video game cover catalog spans two decades. Releases including Chip Funk, and Zelda Funk showcase his approach to combining video game music with funk, disco, chiptune, and electronic styles. FM Fusion: Final Fantasy continues that tradition with one of gaming’s most recognizable soundtracks.

Across the album, Joshua Morse pairs classic Final Fantasy melodies with funky bass, disco grooves, bright synthesizers, vintage drum sounds, and retro game chiptunes that recall the late 1980s and early 1990s. Rather than recreating the original soundtrack note for note, the arrangements place familiar Final Fantasy melodies alongside funk, disco, and synthpop influences, creating an album that feels equally inspired by video game music and late-’80s pop and dance music. The result is an album that stands on its own while remaining faithful to the melodies that made the series memorable.
