The iconic Pokémon theme song gets a lofi treatment from Coffee Date. Coffee Date channels pure nostalgia in Gotta Catch ‘Em All!, the lead single off her next EP, “Poké Tape 4”.

Poké Tape is a lofi / chill beat series here at GameChops, with each installment produced by a different musician in their signature style. Coffee Date is known for extensively using acoustic instruments alongside lo-fi hip-hop drums and synths.

In this Pokémon throwback, Coffee Date tackles the iconic theme song from the original Pokémon animated series, flipping it with a lofi boom-bap beat, electric guitar, and strings.

Coffee Date is Evelyn Rivera, a multi-instrumentalist and arranger. Using piano, sampled synths, violin, and electric guitar, she pays homage to the classic ’90s anime. John Siegler and John Loeffer wrote the beloved theme song which was originally performed by Jason Paige. Gotta Catch ‘Em All! will appear on Coffee Date’s take on the Poké Tape series, Poké Tape 4, releasing January 21st, 2025!

Gotta Catch ‘Em All! is out now on all online stores and streaming platforms! Support Coffee Date and GameChops by streaming, saving, and adding the track to your playlists.
