Super Mario Galaxy gets a Jazz Piano Interpretation in Rosalina’s Waltz

Christina Sochor’s and her trio bring us an expressive, ornamented cover of Rosalina’s Observatory in a style that starts as a mellow waltz and ramps up to a progressive jazz performance.

Based in Honolulu, Hawai’i, Christina Sochor is a pianist, composer, and music educator. Following her GameChops debut with Bob-omb Battlefield, she returns with another Nintendo arrangement that highlights melody, phrasing, and improvisation.

Originally composed for Super Mario Galaxy, Rosalina’s Waltz remains one of the series’ defining themes. This interpretation offers a fresh performance that stays true to the original while giving listeners a new way to experience the piece.
