Making his GameChops debut, Hotline Sehwani teams up with Super Lofi 64 in Sonic Tape! Soft piano, pads, and beats combine in 14 chilled-out reimaginings of music from across the Sonic the Hedgehog series.

Hotline Sehwani is a prolific lofi producer with hundreds of video game remixes and collaborations under his belt. Featuring gentle piano arrangements from duo Super Lofi 64, and mellow production from Hotline Sehwani, Sonic Tape showcases music from Sonic the Hedgehog’s classic and modern eras, captured in the artists’ distinctive sounds.

The tracklist includes iconic SEGA Genesis classics such as “Green Hill Zone” and “Chemical Plant Zone”, “Open Your Heart” and Escape from the City from the Dreamcast’s Sonic Adventure series, as well as modern themes from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colors, Sonic Forces, and Sonic Frontiers. For another Sonic-focused single in a similar mellow style, see Green Hills. Sonic Tape is also part of the wider GameChops Tape series, which includes the duo’s later collaboration Zelda Tape 3 and Coffee Date’s Mario-focused Mario Tape.

Composers include Masato Nakamura, Tee Lopes, Ian Tsuchiura, Tomoya Ohtani, Jun Senoue, Ted Poley, Tony Harnell, Fumie Kumatani, Alex Makhlouf, Sam Frisch, Douglas Robb, Takahito Eguchi, Kenichi Tokoi, Mariko Nanba, and Lee Brotherton.
