Zelda’s Midwest Emo Mixtape is a new sonic experiment from Tune in with Chewie ( Nestor Estrada), the musician/producer behind dark lofi albums such as Samus & Chill and Souls & Chill. Shaped by his youth and growing up with emo bands, Zelda’s Midwest Emo Mixtape re-envisions fourteen timeless Legend of Zelda themes as never heard before. Using the genre’s hallmarks of emotional guitar riffs, twinkling plucks, and nuanced reharmonization, Chewie creates a link between the worlds of gaming and moody ’00s nostalgia.
