Christina Sochor Brings Pokémon’s National Park to Live Jazz

National Park Jazz from Pokémon Gold & Silver is a relaxed, piano-led jazz cover, following Christina’s debut single Bob-omb Battlefield, which introduced progressive jazz arrangements with rich reharmonizations.

National Park is one of the series’ most recognizable themes, originally composed by Go Ichinose for Pokémon Gold & Silver. Sochor performs the piece with drummer Abe Lagrimas and bassist Eric Nakamoto, presenting the melody through an extended solo piano introduction before drums and bass enter with driving energy.

Recorded in Honolulu, Hawaii, “National Park” offers an early look at the acoustic jazz arrangements featured on Sochor’s upcoming album, Not a Phone in Sight.
