Chiptune

  • Chip Funk

Remix veteran Joshua Morse returns to GameChops with CHIP FUNK, a grooving tribute to some of the most timeless videogame tunes of the ’90s. Joshua Morse is a composer and software engineer known for fusing chiptune and jazz music for remixes and original songs. Chip Funk reimagines seven nostalgic favorites from the SNES, Nintendo 64, Playstation, and Sega Genesis eras by blending 16-bit sounds with jazz rhythms and reharmonizations, lo-fi sound design, and plenty of funky basslines.

  • Star Road

From label-boss Dj Cutman and jazz-chiptune maestro Button Masher, “Star Road” takes inspiration from the golden era of 16-bit gaming.

  • Plugged In

Joshua Morse is one of the pioneers of video game remixing, most active in the 2000s as part of OverClocked Remix, the community largely responsible for popularizing video game music as a casual listening genre.

  • SwitchTunes

SwitchTunes is an EP of original compositions, which is a first for us at GameChops! Feel free to use any of these songs in your videos and content and hey, if you want to use these songs for a TV Show, movie, or even a new video game, get in touch with us! (reach out on twitter @GameChops or send us an email via our Bandcamp page).

  • New Donk City

Nelward is a funky boye, blending styles and influences to create a sound all his own. His jazz training comes through in this remix of Super Mario Odyssey’s New Donk City, done in the style of Bob-omb Battlefield from Mario 64. It harkens back to the era of Super Mario World, with clever references and nods throughout his arrangement. Silly synthwork and vocals cover the track like Super Moons, with slick licks and vocals as the cherry on top.

That's all, folks!
