Pop-punk band Rocketchip makes a splash in “Split and Splat” — a colorful Splatoon remix packed with energy and summer feel-good vibes.

“Split and Splat” captures Splatoon’s high-octane action in a fusion of punk rock and classic chiptune styles. Rocketchip was founded originally as a trio with Ian Tsuchiura of Hyper Potions and Shawn Wasabi, and has since been revived by their third founding member, Steven, a multi-instrumentalist and music producer. As a one-man show, Rocketchip wields guitar riffs, hard-hitting drums and sweet chiptune chops in “Split and Splat”, a remixed theme from Nintendo’s team shooter series Splatoon. With its debut for the Wii U in 2015, and its 2017 sequel for the Switch, Splatoon has amassed a fanbase of casual and competitive gamers alike.
