Bossa nova and Super Nintendo nostalgia collide in Button Masher’s single “The Girl from Ipanema”! From his upcoming album Super Standards, Button Masher gives the beloved bossa nova tune an Earthbound-inspired twist.

Button Masher is Jake Silverman, a Grammy award-winning arranger and jazz pianist. “The Girl from Ipanema” was composed by Brazilian composer Antônio Carlos Jobim and lyricist Vinícius de Moraes in 1962, and became an international hit. Using real SNES hardware, Jake stylizes the bossa nova sensation with sounds from 1994’s cult-hit Earthbound. The full album, Super Standards, releases on August 25th!

“The Girl from Ipanema” is out now on all online stores and streaming platforms! Support Button Masher and GameChops by streaming, saving, and adding the track to your playlists.
